with the princes of His people.
Welcome to my "Open Window"...a place of hope, encouragement, and adventure as we journey down the road from "Closed Doors" to the new opportunities God places in our pathway. I hope you will take the time to go back and follow the trail of mixed blessings and fears, failures and triumphs from the past and side-trips in the present. Perhaps it will conjure up some of your own special memories, and be an invitation for you to share with others. I look forward to spending this time with you!

Thankful for God's Blessings
Writing on Thursday evening...Did you happen to see the sunset tonight?
If you missed it, you missed a glorious time rejoicing in God's glorious beauty in the skies!
Psalm 113 would be a fitting song of praise:
1. "Praise the Lord!
Praise, O servants of the LORD,
Praise the name of the LORD!
2. Blessed be the name of the LORD
from this time forth and forevermore!
3. From the rising of the sun to its going down
The LORD's name is to be praised.
4. The LORD is high above all nations,
His glory above the heavens.
5. Who is like the LORD our God,
Who dwells on high,
7. He raises the poor out of the dust,
and lifts the needy out of the ash heap,
(Mississippi Kites seem to be multiplying in our treetops)
8. That He may seat him with princes--
with the princes of His people.
with the princes of His people.
9. He grants the barren woman a home,
Like a joyful mother of children.
Praise the Lord!
Job 37:14 says:
"Stand still and consider the wondrous works of God."
Tonight I am thankful for a good week. God is very gracious unto us. The sunsets have been amazing every evening. We are in good health, and God is providing all our needs. Even our children are being well taken care of and seem to have more work than they can handle, but that is God's way of blessing them and we are glad for this answer to prayer. I had a little tummy bug yesterday, but today it "took care of itself" and I am feeling much better. So much better that we decided to have the "kids" over for a roast beef supper...roasts were on sale at the store and it has been forever since we have had a roast beef, mashed potato and gravy, fresh broccoli and glazed carrot dinner. My sweet daughter in love brought peanut butter cookie brownies for dessert...very good. We are blessed beyond measure and give God the glory, Great things He has done!
What are you thankful for tonight? When we stop and think about it, we can become overcome with joy and thanksgiving. Amen? Amen.
WOW! Those sunset pictures are amazing. I always marvel at how God gives us these spectacular scenes day after day and each one is different. Praise God from Whom all blessings flow.
ReplyDeleteThe sunset pictures are amazing and a good reminder that God is indeed in control. Always good to have family for dinner and roast sounds very good. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteOur sunsets have had no clouds the past week...clear skies. BUT, still beautiful. Now your dinner sounds as "heavenly" as are your day's end photos. Glad you're feeling better.

I still double space too! I can't see to help myself. I prefer real books as well. I don't despise reading on a device, but real books are the best. My version is the New American Standard Bible, though I sometimes look up verses in KJV as well. I'm sorry things are so hard right now.

Yes! AMEN! Pam, your sunset photos are so beautiful!! That roast beef dinner sounds delicious!! I have one in the freezer that I need to thaw out, perhaps! It is so great that the "kids" are so busy with their woodwork. They do beautiful work! Be blessed!!
ReplyDeleteYour sunset photos are stunning, Pamela! It cheered my heart to see them. We have so many trees here that sunsets are difficult to see; that's why we love being in the mountains where we can see them without obstructions.
ReplyDeleteI'm feeling blessed, too, even though we are still pretty much confined here. Life will get better as the days progress, of that I'm positive!
Blessings!
Pam: The pictures of the sunset were beautiful. Our womens'circle at church had a picnic in the church's pavillion yesterday. It was nice to see everyone, we had 13 ladies. Also, our church is having a new pictoral directory made. The church office set aside three days for the picture sittings. They had to add a fourth. I had my picture made yesterday. I sort of like it. But I saw that I need to do some work. Sorry about your stomach issues, glad you are feeling better.God is good to us. Peace and blessings.
ReplyDeletePam, thank you for sharing your stunning photos. All of nature praises its Creator! Today, Friday, I'm thankful to be feeling better, now that a hormone fueled headache is gone.
ReplyDeleteLove and blessings!
