Our faith is our treasure from God, and his word our lasting peace. It's always good to pause and remember that we are a blessed people, and to never forget how rich we are in his word. How great is our God!<br />CeilCeilhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06293917798735764739noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2756675007223295900.post-2710994356645208292014-04-28T19:43:05.542-04:002014-04-28T19:43:05.542-04:00thank you Dianna...and AMEN! We have no idea as American Christians just what the word "persecution" means. For surely if we did our Bibles would not go unread, and we would treasure them just as these dear Chinese brothers and sisters in Christ do. I pray that we would not have to undergo this sort of persecution to come to this realization. TREASURE...rather than ORNAMENT...should be on the lips of all of us.Diannahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15916346102440260126noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2756675007223295900.post-32404250977645086332014-04-28T18:26:11.593-04:002014-04-28T18:26:11.593-04:00We do not realize what persecution Christians arou...We do not realize what persecution Christians around the world are suffering. We just don't realize how blessed and protected we are...but we should never take it for granted. I know most churches do have Bibles in the pew rack, which is a good thing. But it should never take the place of people bringing and using their own Bibles so they can mark the verses that are speaking to them and can get familiar with the location of key verses and words of hope. A lot of churches now put all the Scripture references for the sermon, etc. on the power point tv/screen, which is good in some ways, but is making people really lazy, because now they don't have to pick up any Bible at all. I know this is the digital age, but the day may come when we will be longing for even one page of God's Word to hold close to our hearts. Just saying.Pamela M. Some, I use for research, others for just reading. Our church has a bible in the middle of each pew rack. I noticed that a lot of people don't carry Bibles like people did even 20 years ago. Thank you for sharing this with us.quietspirithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06086016141181470311noreply@blogger.com
