"41 Then Elijah said to Ahab, “Go up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of abundance of rain.” 42 So Ahab went up to eat and drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; then he bowed down on the ground, and put his face between his knees..."
Welcome to my "Open Window"...a place of hope, encouragement, and adventure as we journey down the road from "Closed Doors" to the new opportunities God places in our pathway. I hope you will take the time to go back and follow the trail of mixed blessings and fears, failures and triumphs from the past and side-trips in the present. Perhaps it will conjure up some of your own special memories, and be an invitation for you to share with others. I look forward to spending this time with you!

Friday Night Celebration! It's Raining!!!
1 Kings 18:41-42
The Drought Ends
"41 Then Elijah said to Ahab, “Go up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of abundance of rain.” 42 So Ahab went up to eat and drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; then he bowed down on the ground, and put his face between his knees..."
Be sure to turn on your sound so you can hear the "abundance of rain" !!!
Hallelujah!! I feel like dancing in the rain!
Puddles!!!!!
Genesis 9:12-17
12 And God said: “This is the sign of the covenant which I make between Me and you, and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:
13 I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth.
14 It shall be, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow shall be seen in the cloud;
15 and I will remember My covenant which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh.
16 The rainbow shall be in the cloud, and I will look on it to remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.”
17 And God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant which I have established between Me and all flesh that is on the earth.”
And that's all I wanted to share with you tonight, because I know you've been praying that we'd get rain! I don't know if the areas that have had the fires got any of this rain or not, but we can keep praying! I believe there's more coming Sunday and several days next week, so just maybe the drought is being broken!! We will claim it by faith!
Thank you all for your prayers!!! Please keep them coming!!!

Thank you Lord! What a wonderful answer to prayer.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you got some rain. We have had a lot of rainy days and even some flooding BUT we are still considered way below average for water fall this year. Crazy.
ReplyDeleteI love rainbows -it seals the promise that there is light after the storm. Hugs and prayers- Diana
Hallelujah! Thank you oh thou Great Jehovah! I have been praying and praying. Area's in South Dakota also got 6 inches of snow last night that helped greatly with the fires they have had. God is SO GOOD! I'll keep praying for Stillwaters Pond to be filled to the brim soon.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and love,
Betsy
So happy you got rain! We are getting some too this weekend. Love the rainbow too! What did Blackie think of the rain?
ReplyDeleteHe was happy to come inside and sleep in the chair. He doesn't like wet feet. LOL.
DeleteUgh, no rain here in south Ocala, ugh. Please send it here. smiles.
ReplyDeletePraise God, always, for his answer to prayer!! Now, we need some too!! I love seeing those big drops, as you do!! We need all of that and so much more! Pray for rain in south Georgia, too. My family is moving animals today from their horse sanctuary. The fire is fast approaching. Rain, dear Lord. We need rain!
ReplyDeleteWe could use some rain too. It’s always pure joy when you stop by the blog. It makes my day. Thank you for your faithfulness in ministering to me. I’m appreciative and grateful.

Thank you, Regine. I'm sorry I haven't been as faithful as I could have been lately...I get busy and can't keep up with all my dear blogging friends, so I end up having skip over some sometimes and I don't like that because I miss so much. I'm trying to do better and be more consistent. You are a blessing to me.
DeleteI'm doing the happy dance with you, Pamela. What a blessing to see and hear the abundant rainfall!!! Hope some of that will happen in south Georgia with all those wildfires out of control. Enjoy every sweet moment of that rain!
ReplyDeleteHappy , Happy, Happy !!! Thank you Lord !
ReplyDeleteI pray that it will continue and the drought will be broken. Fill up the Still Water Pond Lord ...
Sue
Thank you for the good news! You cited 1 Kings & I'd been praying with 2 Kings 3:22 for the good Lord to fill up Still Waters Pond to keep the enemy of your & our souls away. All that & the rainbow promise. His mercies are new every day!!
ReplyDeleteBobbie the lurker in typically dry sunny southern NM (would you like some sand? we've got plenty to share!)
Happy Hesed to you & yours -- and joyous Ebenezers, too!
Oh, thank you, Bobbie the lurker! Anyone praying for the good Lord to keep the enemy of our souls away, etc, can't be too bad of a "lurker". LOL. You are welcome anytime, but you may keep your sand in NM. Florida has quite a lot of sand also, and we have plenty enough to share here! LOL. But thank you for your kind words and happy wishes of love and thankfulness. And yes, "Thus far the Lord has helped us." 1 Samuel 7:12. ( you got me to do some research!).
DeleteSo thankful!
ReplyDeleteThe rain came through here, too. What a blessing!
ReplyDeleteDear Pamela, praise God. I love your rain video!!! I have always loved the sound and smell of rain.
ReplyDeleteYour rain and rainbow pictures are beautiful.
Beautiful photography ... especially those on the window! Prayers still coming, dear friend.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet it is to see those puddles in your yard. I think I was just excited as you guys when I saw on FB that you all were getting rain. I sure wish I could send more your way. We have had rain almost everyday for the past two weeks. And...we have storms coming tonight. There has also been a lot of big sized hail, which is never good. Your photos Pam of the raindrops falling brought big smiles. Hopefully all the little pond critters will make their way back to your place. Wishing you a wonderful rest of the weekend and lovely Sunday...
ReplyDeletePraise the Lord!!! He is so good and ALWAYS ON TIME! I am glad you all got rain and what a beautiful rainbow.
ReplyDeleteYour photos of the rain are stunning and I always love seeing a rainbow.
ReplyDeleteThere’s nothing more beautiful than a rainbow and especially after some much needed rainfall. Hope you get more this coming week, Pam.
ReplyDeleteHallelujah! I can practically smell the rain through the screen. There is something so restorative about seeing puddles after a dry spell. It’s like watching God’s promises being poured out in real-time. That rainbow was the perfect 'amen' to the end of the day. I’m joining you in that rain dance and praying that these clouds head straight toward the fire zones next. Keep that faith, more is coming.
ReplyDeleteI hope you keep getting rain! It is going to take a lot to get our ponds full again!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful!! So happy to see those raindrops falling, hope more comes your way soon.
ReplyDeleteYay!! I pray it will continue. We too are receiving rain and we needed it. Everything is happy and turning green. A spring rain, giving a good clean up from the dust and grime winter left behind.

This was an amazing post with fabulous pictures. I enjoyed every word of it. I do hope your pond will fill up soon and be able to sustain all the wildlife which relies on it.
