I fear that so many of our old songs of commitment to Christ are being lost along the wayside with the newer more popular contemporary songs, which are beautiful for praise and worship...but we need to take it to the next level of full surrender...and somehow that gets lost in the shuffle. I need to remind myself of this often, and when I do let go and let God be in charge, wow! What an adventure opens up!!! I hope your week is blessed and beautiful as well!Pamela M. It's such a wonderful thing when we finally do "surrender ALL". Thank you for this extra "food for thought" today...Pamela M. We are all still "working on that" being set apart and consecrated for the Lord...the world tries to steal us back and we often fall to its prey...but God, in His mercy, keeps a firm grasp on us and won't let us get too far from His plan and purpose for our lives. Sometimes, however, like that certain "drinking mug", we set it on the shelf for a while and give it a rest while we try something different...but once we have taken that step to be totally surrendered to Christ, somehow, we always pick it back up and put it back to use...God doesn't allow us to sit on the shelf for long, I've discovered...He lets us rest...but then He finds a new purpose and plan that gives us new life. I'm praying for you, in that I know you've been resting from a "long journey", but God is just getting things back in order for you to get back in the "game". His way..which is the BEST way. Love to you today.Pamela M. This old hymn is truly a treasure, one that gets at the heart of things IF we truly pay attention to the lyrics. The same is true for the hymn, "I Surrender All"...I must ask myself: have I truly surrendered all to Jesus? Hmm...lots of food for thought.

Blessing to you, dear Pam!Kim Jollyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08670842504983601263noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2756675007223295900.post-90170780251050386282018-04-08T14:21:46.736-04:002018-04-08T14:21:46.736-04:00We do need to completely submit our wills and our ...We do need to completely submit our wills and our lives to the Lord! I do not know this hymn, but there is a contemporary praise song that "steals" some of the lyrics: "Take my life and let it be, all for You and for Your glory. Take my life and let it be yours . . ." Now can I recall the name of the song? No, but always loved this part of it.
Blessings, Pamela!Martha Jane Orlandohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11620499267401065780noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2756675007223295900.post-55419907860947629572018-04-08T14:15:46.952-04:002018-04-08T14:15:46.952-04:00Lovely post but then, your posts always bless me. ...Lovely post but then, your posts always bless me. I think of being consecrated as set apart. I can have a certain drinking mug that I "consecrate" for only my morning coffee (and I do have one like that). To be consecrated or set apart for the Lord is such a huge thing but that is often the only way He can use us. I"m still working on that! This is a really special song to me. I am glad you have now discovered it. Maybe you can find it in your church hymnbook. So many churches don't even use hymnals anymore, which I think is so sad. There are so many wonderful hymns of the faith, full of sound doctrine and worship, that are being lost to the current generation.
I am glad you are feeling better too! WElcome back!Pamela M.
