In His Time-Time for Thankfulness

I know...we usually do a "Thankful Thursday"...but it's only Tuesday, and I feel thankful today! So I want to express my thanks to God for how He blesses, provides and leads us each day.

Today our "Lovely Ladies of the Lord" met for prayer and Bible study and fellowship. (Followed by lunch at a local restaurant as seen above). It seems as though we spent the majority of our time together in sharing prayer requests and praying...there were many burdens on our hearts for loved ones and friends.  After a time of singing some favorite songs like "Jesus, Jesus, Jesus...There's Just Something About That Name",  "I've Got a Mansion Just Over the Hilltop" and "In His Time"...we went directly to prayer.  Some of our loved ones need a miracle...and we prayed in faith believing for exactly that...a miracle..."In His Time"

In His time, in His time
He makes all things beautiful
In His time

Lord please show me everyday
As you're teaching me your way
That you do just what you say
In your time

In Your time, in Your time
You make all things beautiful
In Your time

Lord my life to You I bring
May each song I have to sing
Be to You a lovely thing
In your time

Lord please show me everyday
As You're teaching me Your way
That You do just what You say
In Your time

What a joy to spend time with these dear "Lovely Ladies of the Lord" and to glean encouragement and hope from their life experiences.  Praying now that our prayers will be answered in accordance with God's will...and in His time.  It isn't easy for us to accept that many times God's timing isn't our timing.  God's plans may be different than ours...and His ways are not our ways...

Isaiah 55:8-9(KJV)

"8 For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways My ways, saith the Lord.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are My ways higher than your ways,
and My thoughts than your thoughts."

Part of being a believer is accepting that God knows best in all things,
and having the faith to believe He will do what is best as well.
I am thankful for this faith that gives comfort even when I don't understand God's plans.

On a different note: Tomorrow is Valentine's Day, and it has been fun to receive some fun and beautiful Valentines in the mail this week...surprises from people out of state...and totally unexpected!

These cute little valentines were sent to my hubby and me from an "old friend" from one of our previous churches in Ohio!  Really brightened our day and brought smiles to our faces!!

And this lovely little vintage Valentine came for me from one of my sweet blogging/facebook friends...what a delight!!!  Thank you, ladies, for your thoughtfulness and for blessing us with these sweet and fun cards!

We don't have any particularly exciting plans for Valentine's Day tomorrow...we will have our weekly Home Bible Study here in our home...and that is always a breath of fresh air and a time of great joy...so maybe that IS an exciting plan after all! Spending time with fellow believers, worshiping the Lord, praying, and studying God's Word together is always exciting...as well as a blessing.
Tomorrow is also the beginning of Lent...preparing our hearts for the upcoming Easter season.
Not intended to be a gloomy time...but a time of renewal, spiritual introspection, and giving of ourselves for the benefit of others. Could be quite exciting indeed!

Be blessed dear friends...
and expect God to do wondrous things
"In His Time"

    1. Thank you so much, Dianna, for the warm thoughts and also for the prayers for Sharon and Robb. That means so much. She is a precious saint of the Lord and is worthy of our prayers on her behalf. God is doing beautiful things through her even in the midst of her time of trial and suffering. She is teaching others the right way to serve God even when times are difficult and her earthy future is uncertain. Such a blessing to all. Have a blessed and Happy Valentine's Day today!

    1. Thank you, Cecelia. I know that God is in the midst of our group as we gather "wherever two or more are gathered in My Name, there I am in the midst"...we truly felt His presence as we prayed and sang and encouraged each other. This is a valuable time...and I so appreciate these dear ones who participate.

  6. It's so nice that you have this group to be with and pray with. It can be hard to be alone and so it is important to have friends around to give and share with.

    1. Yes, definitely being alone is difficult for anyone. I highly recommend that any woman who is alone to find a group of other ladies of like faith and spend time together at least once a month if not oftener...and try to stay connected in between. It is a blessing to have the kind of friends that you know you can depend upon to pray for you no matter what...

  8. I cannot think of anything sweeter than times of refreshing with friends, good conversation, prayers, and believing for miracles. Those are some oldies, but goodies you sang. I always enjoy those and In His Time is something I'm still learning. Really enjoyed all your valentines. Sweet.

    1. I do believe in miracles...I've seen God perform them in my own family's life...and I know He is still in the miracle working business today. But...like you, the part about "In His Time" is something I'm still learning too. Oh, I know the song...it's the acceptance of waiting for God to work things out "in His time" that we all have to learn, sometimes over and over again. Thank you for popping in for a sweet visit. Blessings to you dear friend.

  9. Oh Pam, I'm so thankful that you have this wonderful group to meet with for prayer, worship, fellowship, support, and encouragement. I loved the songs the group selected to sing--there's something special about the older hymns/praise songs.

    Happy Valentine's Day!
