Giving Light...

"The entrance of Your words gives light;
It gives understanding to the simple."
Psalm 119:130

"Make Your face shine upon Your servant,
and teach me Your statutes."
Psalm 119:135

Jesus said to His disciples:

"You are the light of the world.
A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.
Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket,
but on a lampstand,
and it gives light to all who are in the house.
Let your light so shine before men,
that they may see your good works and
glorify your Father in heaven."
Matthew 5:14-16

So...
Let us be the Light of Christ
to others today...
wherever we are,
whatever we may be doing...

"Let your light so shine before men...that they may see
your good works and glorify your Father in heaven."
Amen!

  5. Our pastor preached on our being salt and light to the world. There is a lot to that phrase 'salt and light.' I love your pictures. They speak to my heart.

  8. Beautiful verses and images about Light!!
I was just hearing the verse from Psalm 119:130 this morning in my prayer time. it was this version, "The unfolding of Your words gives light, giving understanding to the simple."

I live in Japan, and somehow the line `unfolding of Your words gives light` makes me think of `origami` (Japanese paper folding) and I was imagining His words just unfolding and unfolding out from `folded` papers. So it was a treat to have been led to your post following that and to see those lines from the psalm and all the other verses about Light!

    Blessings and Shalom from Japan!
