"Into His Marvelous Light"

"You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation,
His own special people,
that you may proclaim the praises of Him
Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light."
I Peter 2:9

When you start feeling discouraged with the way the world is turning...
When you feel like there is no hope and there is darkness everywhere...

When you just want to give up and walk away (or even run away)...

Stop, Look, and Listen!

Stop...Don't let this world and the things of this world drag you down.

Look UP, Look all around you...See the marvelous light surrounding you...

the Light that comes from our Creator God...
Look at the beauty of His creation and rejoice...

Listen...Listen to His Word as spoken from the Bible...listen to the sounds of nature...

and Proclaim His praises!

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.
For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world
to be holy and blameless in His sight."
Ephesians 1:3-4

"Delight yourselves in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart."
Psalm 37:4

I hope you enjoy the photos of the delightful deer family in my neighborhood.  This has been such a source of joy and comfort to me as I take my early morning walk.  When this old world starts to get me down with all of the negativity of the news and actions of the enemies of our faith, I take a few minutes to retreat to the woods, and there reflect on the beauty of God's creation surrounding us.

If you are feeling like you are being engulfed by darkness, sorrow, or fear...remember these words from God's Word above.  We are His special people...and we need to realize that we have been "called out of darkness and into His marvelous light."  Rejoice in that light...Delight yourself in Him...and He WILL give you the desires of your heart...Peace, Comfort, and Joy.

Praying your day is filled with His Marvelous Light!

    1. Thank you Sandi. Frankly, I was quite surprised myself...however, I do use a zoom lens on my camera, so I am not as close at it may seem. I did have a closer encounter yesterday with one of the fawns, and I was able to videotape it. You can see that on my facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/pamela.m.steiner/videos/vb.1432274326/10206934233500972/?type=3&theater Enjoy!

There is something wonderful about walking in nature and looking around to find God everywhere, and He is everywhere. I too love my walks in the woods that surround me.

    1. What a very kind compliment, Debbie. Thank you. To know that Christ shines through me is my greatest hope and desire. He is the reason I am here...and to have the opportunity to share Him with others is pure joy.
Yes, I praise God for all the beauty surrounding us...it's there for all if we take the time to look for Him. Not everyone has woods and deer to enjoy, but if we look deeply, we will see Him. I am happy to know that you share this same perspective on life! God bless you, my new friend!

  7. Pam, Sorry I've been scarce lately. I got behind early this summer and have yet to get caught up. Anyway, thank you for this encouragement and for the beautiful photos. Living in Iowa deer are common sights; sadly that usually means on/near a highway--they are the cause of many accidents. Thankfully, I've only seen them and not hit them. Focusing on the Lord really does help; my goal this year is to focus on abiding in the Lord.

    Blessings!

    1. Hi Kim, I should be apologizing to you, as I have also been scarce...and a little behind this summer. Maybe when the weather cools down my brain will get back into gear. I am glad you enjoyed this. I pray it was an encouragement to you. Yes, I understand about the deer in the roads. We have that problem here as well. I am thankful I am able to enjoy them in their more natural and happy state at this time! Blessings to you today!

  8. Pam: When I get pulled down by the things of this world. I spend time each evening sitting in our yard swing and talk to God and take in the beauty of our QUIET yard. We do this every night around 8:00. It has helped me remain calm about issues in the news. Since January, I prayed for a friend's son-in-law who had naso-esophgeal cancer. He had a PET-scan on Monday. I received a text-message that he is cancer free!

    1. Praise the Lord for the good news for your friend's son-in-law! That is so wonderful to hear!!! Yes, the news keeps us all on edge these days. We try not to listen to it anymore than absolutely necessary. I find myself retreating more and more away from the world when things get this crazy...and I am so thankful for this beautiful respite in God's creation. I am thankful for you that you also have a peaceful place where you can go and pray and meditate on God's Word and Beauty. He created it for us to enjoy.
      Blessings, my friend.
