Moments of Grace: Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing

Sunday Morning Meditation

"And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem
the Spirit of GRACE and supplication;
they they will look on Me, Whom they pierced.
Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son,
and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn."

"In that day a FOUNTAIN shall be opened for the house of David
and for the inhabitants of Jerusalem,
for sin and for uncleanness."
Zechariah 12:10, 13:1

"Come, Thou Fount of every blessing,
Tune my heart to sing Thy GRACE;
Streams of mercy never ceasing,

Call for songs of loudest praise.
Teach me some melodious sonnet,
Sung by flaming tongues above.
Praise the mount, I'm fixed upon it,
Mount of Thy redeeming love.

Hitherto Thy love has blest me;
Thou has brought me to this place;
And I know Thy hand will bring me
Safely home by Thy good GRACE.
Jesus sought me when a stranger,
Wandering from the fold of God;
He, to rescue me from danger
Bought me with His precious blood.

Oh, to GRACE how great a debtor,
Daily I'm constrained to be!
Let Thy goodness, as a fetter,
Bind my wandering heart to Thee;

Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,
Prone to leave the God I love;

Here's my heart, oh, take and seal it...
Seal it for Thy courts above."

Yes, Lord,,
"Here's my heart,
O take and seal it~
Seal it for Thy Courts above."
Amen.

    1. I am so glad that you got "the message" of this post. I woke up humming this song, and had to share it because it was blessing me so. Thank you for sharing this "morning meditation" with me. We can worship the Lord together across the miles and know that we are one in Him.

    1. Thank you Kim. I am glad that this spoke to your heart today. I love the old hymns of the faith, and love to share them with others so that they can continue to be appreciated. I hate to see them fading away from our worship services. There is so much depth of meaning found within their verses. This one truly blessed me as I listened to it again and let the words seep into my soul. Thank you for your thoughts today. God's richest blessings be yours.
